Agricultural Tour
This year's AgTour will feature a stop at a sweetpotato packing shed and then a visit to the
NC Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services, Horticultural Crops Research Station in
Clinton, NC where we will have lunch and then take a wagon tour of the station. Established
in 1970, the Horticultural Crops Research Station at Clinton encompasses 349 acres. The station
supports a wide range of activities to support the North Carolina horticultural industry. Research
is conducted on various crops including cucumbers, sweetpotatoes, tomatoes, pepper, squash,
strawberries, watermelons, asparagus, onions, cole crops and much more. For those interested in
learning more about NC's diverse agricultural production and research system, this is the place to
be on Wednesday!!
